At Milner Group we are involved with the construction of built environments including, but not limited to, roads, railways, buildings and subdivisions. Civil construction often includes liaising with government and city professionals but also includes commercial clients. One of the first steps in civil construction is evaluating and clearing land to produce suitable building sites that have proper infrastructure that adheres to guidelines outlined by the government.


Greater Nanaimo Pollution Control Centre: Secondary Treatment Upgrade

 Milner is providing all civil works to the GNPCC: Secondary Treatment Upgrade in order for the Regional District of Nanaimo to remain compliant with regulations requiring secondary treatment for municipal wastewater. This project’s benefits will reach 97,000 residents of Greater Nanaimo and has been ongoing since 2017. A large portion of construction aggregate required for this expansion was produced on-site from the project’s waste material.

City of Nanaimo Boxwood Connector Ground Improvement

As part of the Nanaimo Transportation Master Plan, under-utilized parcels of land between Bowen Road at Northfield Road and Rosstown Road were identified to be cleared and prepared for future roadway improvements. Milner Group was awarded this contract in 2019 to help ease traffic congestion, provide environmental improvements, build privacy fencing around the project area, and supply and place pre-load material for the connecting roadway.

Town of Ladysmith Arbutus Water Treatment Plant Phase II

Milner Group’s work on this expansion to the existing water treatment plant in Ladysmith involves clearing, grubbing, and blasting of the project site as well as all other civil works including installation of storm and sanitary sewer mains. The purpose of this project is to ensure a clean and stable source of water is available to the town to Ladysmith that will support the town’s population and expected growth.

Habitat for Humanity

6 lot residential subdivision taken from land clearing to paving and street lighting; including all deep services, hydro, and communication line installation.  Much of our work will be donated at no cost to Habitat.

Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit

Final grading and shaping of the infield as well as trenching and installation of the track, electrical and water line work.

Bear Mountain Tennis Facility

Earthworks and site preparation.  Converting a portion of the driving range for the new Bear Mountain, world-class, clay and hard-court tennis facility set to open in the fall of 2016.


Demolition work can be intimidating, but may be a necessary step to your property improvement project. Milner Group offers an experienced team and the equipment required to complete your job in a timely manner without compromising safety or quality. We proudly recycle 90% of demolition waste including the concrete associated with the structures we demolished. Our team does an outstanding job at cleaning up and preparing you for the next stage of your project.


Amrikko’s Indian Grill

After a fire closed this restaurant in 2013, it was necessary for the building to be demolished in order for development that meets the design guidelines in the Departure Bay Neighbourhood Plan. Milner Group is proud to be a part of this community project that will see the restaurant rebuilt, new commercial space and residential units added, and improvements to Wingrove Street that include construction of sidewalks and on-street parking.
